Safeguarding Declaration

Our Commitment to Safeguarding:

At BooCare Domiciliary Care, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to protecting the rights, dignity, independence, and wellbeing of every person who uses our services.

We believe that every individual has the right to live free from abuse, neglect, discrimination, exploitation, harassment, and avoidable harm. We work proactively to create a safe environment where people feel respected, listened to, and supported to make informed choices about their care.

Our safeguarding practices are aligned with the requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, including Regulation 13 – Safeguarding Service Users from Abuse and Improper Treatment, and other relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance.

How We Safeguard People

BooCare Domiciliary Care is committed to:

  • Promoting a culture of safety, openness, and respect.
  • Preventing abuse, neglect, and improper treatment wherever possible.
  • Supporting people to understand their rights and how to raise concerns.
  • Taking all safeguarding concerns seriously and responding promptly.
  • Working closely with local authorities, healthcare professionals, families, and other partner agencies when safeguarding concerns arise.
  • Maintaining robust reporting, investigation, and monitoring procedures.
  • Ensuring that safeguarding concerns are shared quickly and appropriately to protect people from harm.

Safer Recruitment and Training

We operate safer recruitment practices to help ensure that suitable individuals are employed to provide care and support. This includes:

  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks where required.
  • Verification of identity, qualifications, and references.
  • Ongoing supervision and competency assessments.
  • Mandatory safeguarding training for all staff, refreshed regularly.
  • Clear whistleblowing procedures that encourage staff to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.

Duty of Candour

BooCare Domiciliary Care embraces the principles of openness, honesty, and transparency. Where incidents occur, we are committed to acting in accordance with the statutory Duty of Candour by communicating openly with those affected, offering explanations, apologies where appropriate, and learning from incidents to improve the quality and safety of our services.

Reporting Concerns

If you are receiving care from BooCare Domiciliary Care, or if you are a family member, representative, visitor, or member of staff and have concerns about the safety or wellbeing of an individual, we encourage you to report your concerns immediately.

All concerns will be treated seriously, investigated appropriately, and managed confidentially wherever possible.
